I made these prints by working on one tiny drawing over about a year. I was thinking about one of my favorite places growing up, a rural road in the Shenandoah Valley in Virginia. Each of the prints is kind of like a snapshot of this one drawing at a point in time during that year. As I worked on the drawing, the image got gradually darker. The growing darkness felt like walking down that road at dusk, hearing the crickets getting louder, watching the stars come out. I love that these Wanderer prints give me a way to share my memory of that favorite journey.
Each image in this series is a limited edition of just 15 signed and numbered prints. Created using 100% carbon pigment ink mixed here in the studio. Printed on paper specially prepared with hand-laid imitation silver leaf.
