This little watercolor of the moon is tiny and huge at the same time. Painted in washes of blue and grey overlayed with crater rings in opaque light green and white, the palette includes a touch of iridescent pigment as well. Working on this painting was a treat. Part of the fun came from the synergy between the subject matter and the circular marks I’m always using. Part of it came from having clips from the 1989 documentary film “For All Mankind” drifting through my head as I worked. That soundtrack- highly recommend.
