Parapet

Acrylic dispersion on polymer canvas, 32 x 40 inches.

The painting titled Parapet was inspired by an early morning walk through the city as snow was just beginning to fall.

The primary colors in the painting are black and white, but touches of dark blue and a mix of subtly iridescent paint and embedded flakes of mica give this canvas unexpected presence. I find the quiet and dark carried in this image particularly reassuring.

Parapet was part of the 2016 Enchanted Forest display at Begdorf Goodman in NYC.

Snow has been a frequent subject in my artwork. You can find more examples here: #snow
