This watercolor was made from the seat of a rowing dingy on Lake George, New York in the summer of 2019. It shows a view looking north across the water from Silver Bay, towards Stark Point. As with most all the watercolors I made that summer, this image includes a ring of light in the sky. Even though the sun was not in the direction I was facing as I painted, the sense of light in that place was all-enveloping and I wanted to honor that feeling in this image.
This painting was included in 2026 the exhibit Layered: Beyond the Surface at Blank Space in Seoul.
