The Wanderer Print: 4th State Description
I’ve combined hand-laid silver leaf and hand-mixed carbon-black inks with in-house digital printmaking for luminous depth in this limited edition print titled The Wanderer: 4th State.
As I built toward this fourth print in the series, I completely covered the aluminum leafed image with circular marks. This is the point where I really began to see unexpected things happening in the drawing. If you hang this print where the light will shift throughout the day, I’m hoping it will surprise you, too.
The reflective silver image area of this print measures 6″ by 8″ and the outside dimensions of the 100 percent cotton rag paper are 8″ by 10″. It’s the perfect size for looking at up close.
The hand-prepared paper and hand-applied leaf mean that there are small differences between the 15 prints in this edition that make each one unique.
The all-black inks used in this print were mixed by hand. It was printed here in the studio using the Amish Inkjet.
I’ve used archival materials throughout this museum quality fine art print. Since the metal in the silver leaf is aluminum, there’s no worry about this tarnishing.
