The Wanderer Print: 3rd State Description
The third print I created for the Wanderer suite sparkles with hand-stenciled 23 karat gold leaf stars laced in an intricate web of carbon-black circles and lustrous aluminum leaf.
The traces of gold I added here required an additional step, but the result is lovely to look at in changing light. This is a constellation of beautiful materials that will look a little different each time it is closely examined.
The reflective silver image area of this print measures 6 by 8 inches and the outside dimensions of the 100 percent cotton rag paper are 8 by 10 inches.
The hand-prepared paper and hand-applied gold and silver leaf mean that there are small differences between the 15 prints in this edition that make each one unique.
The all-black inks used in this print were mixed by hand. It was printed here in the studio using the Amish Inkjet.
I’ve used archival materials throughout this museum quality fine art print. Since the metal in the silver leaf is aluminum and the gold leaf is high-karat, there’s no worry about this tarnishing.
